2015 Brut - Méthode Champenoise
Tasting Notes
A glorious sparkling wine that commands admiration, our 2015 Brut breaks from the past Damiani ‘norm’ due to its Chardonnay-heavy composition. Elegant and tantalizing notes of baking bread and juicy pear greet your nose and invite you to sip. Your palate is met with a lovely, effervescent mousse followed by scrumptious flavors of peach cobbler, green apple, and brioche. Save this glorious bubbly for your most special of occasions… or Tuesday night. We won’t judge.

Vintage Notes
For the second year in a row, we experienced another very harsh winter in the Finger Lakes. Sustained low temperatures and late frosts caused a great deal of vine damage and bud death but as always lower yields result in improved fruit quality. In spite of the harsh winter, we were graced with a growing season that started out cool and wet but finished with a healthy showing of sun and heat. Harvest kicked off at the usual time with lots of sun and was temperate with little rain. All in all, it was a good harvest and though yields were down between 20-40% on nearly every varietal the result was exceptional quality, with complex fruit across the board. Expect lush, rich, voluptuous wines from this vintage!
